Two killed in separate road accidents

BANGALORE: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in the city since Sunday night.

Police said Prabhakar (24) was killed when the motorcycle he was riding with his friend Mahesh collided with another motorcycle at a turning near Devanarapalya in the early hours of Monday.

Prabhakar died on the spot. Mahesh and a person on the other motorcycle have been admitted to a private hospital, police said.

In the other incident, Ramesh (26) riding a pillion on a motorcycle, was killed the vehicle was knocked down by a lorry near Konappa Agrahara.

According to police, Ramesh was carrying eatables for a party in his house in Doddatopura. Ramesh fell off the vehicle after the lorry hit the motorcycle. He died on the spot. Gopi, who was driving the vehicle, was injured and has been admitted to a private hospital.

The police have arrested the lorry driver.

Pedestrian killed

A 24-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a vehicle near Chowdeshwari Nagar in Peenya police station limits on Sunday night. The police are yet to identify the victim.

Woman killed

An 80-year-old unidentified woman was killed on the spot after a lorry ran over her near Mangammanapalya on Wednesday. The police said that the accident occurred on Monday at 5 p.m.

The lorry driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the scene. He is reportedly at large and the police have seized the vehicle. A case has been registered by the Madiwala Traffic police.
