ANANTAPUR: Minister for Tourism J. Geeta Reddy on Tuesday inaugurated Shanthagiri Ayurveda and Siddayoga Vydyashala at Puttaparthi in the district on Tuesday. The health centre would provide free consultancy to patients and funds collected through sale of medicines would be utilised for charity purposes. Speaking on the occasion the Minister said the centre was set up there on the invitation extended by the Department of Tourism. Run by Shanthagiri Ashram of Kerala the health centre would also be known as a `pancha karma' centre. It had 15 such centres in the State, apart from a mobile hospital. The centre offers treatment for chronic ailments like spondylitis, paralysis etc. The ayurvedic medicines used are prepared by the ashram itself from its herbal and medicinal gardens raised in Kerala. Treatment would also combine siddayoga.
