Maoist couple surrender in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR: CPI(Maoist) Manpur Division Committee secretary Dussa Gouri Shankar alias Prabhakar alias Vikram (36) and his wife and commander of Madaneveeda in Chhattisgarh Udutha Laxmi alias Shoba (27) surrendered before Devendra Singh Chouhan, SP, here on Thursday.

Shankar, a native of Indurthi of Chigurumamidi mandal in Karimnagar district, joined the group in 1989. He was involved in the attack on Mahadevpur police station in Karimnagar and Asarelli police station in Maharashtra.Laxmi, a resident of Rathnapur in Kamanpur mandal, married Shankar in 1997 and joined the party as a dalam member.
