Home Guards

The Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore Rural District, A.T. Duraikumar, has invited applications from women for Area Commander for Home Guards (Women).

Applicants should be in the age group of 20 to 45 with physical fitness. They should be resident of the State. They should not have been involved in any civil or criminal cases. Eligible applicants should send in their applications to the SP, Coimbatore Rural on or before January 20. The applications should contain name, age/date of birth, educational qualification, character, conduct and reputation in public.

It should also contain details as to whether the applicant was in Home Guards, if so details, details regarding pending cases (civil/criminal), whether on the adverse records of the police, physical fitness and also details relating to whether involved in any movement relating to caste, creed, trade union or political party.

Applications invited

Avinashilignam Jan Shikshan Sansthan has invited applications for the following training courses from persons who have passed Standrd VIII and above and are between 15 and 35 years of age, according to a release here.

Those who have completed Standard VIII (passed or failed) can opt for courses in plumbing, tow-wheeler motor vehicles repairing and tailoring.

Those who have completed Standard X (passed or failed) can opt for courses in radio and television repairing, screen printing, auto electricals, refrigeration and A/C repairing.

Those who have passed Plus Two or have two years of experience as turner/fitter or machinist can choose tool and die making. Applications should be written on white paper with name and address enclosing two self-addressed envelopes with Rs.5 stamp affixed.

Applications should be sent to The Director, Avinashilingam Jan Shikshan Sansthan, Alagesan Road, Coimbatore, 641-043 on or before January 19.
