Two killed in road accidents

BANGALORE: A military truck fatally knocked down a woman riding a scooter in Ashoknagar Traffic limits on Monday afternoon.

Police gave the name of the deceased as Anuradha (36), wife of one Sharma and resident of Thyagarajanagar. Police said Anuradha was an LIC agent.

The truck, which was in the process of overtaking a BMTC bus, hit the scooter and ran over her, killing Anuradha on the spot near the M.G. Road-Brigade Road Junction, police said. Ashoknagar Traffic police have registered a case.

An unidentified person, who had reportedly fallen from a vehicle, was run over by trucks in Madiwala Traffic Police Station limits late on Sunday night.

Police said the accident occurred near Koodlu Gate around 1.45 a.m. The deceased was aged around 40 years.

The Madiwala Police have registered a case.

House burgled

Miscreants broke into a house in Ramamurthinagar Police Station limits on Sunday and allegedly decamped with Rs. 40,000 and jewellery estimated at Rs. 1.68 lakh.

Police said complainant Sunita Sethumadhavan had gone to a hospital to visit an ailing relative when the incident occurred.

The Ramamurthinagar Police have registered a case.

Five arrested

The Basavanagudi Police have arrested five persons on charges of attempt to commit dacoity and recovered from them an autorickshaw, lethal weapons and valuables.
