Matsushita to build $2.4 b TV panel plant

TOKYO: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. said on Wednesday it would spend 280 billion yen ($2.4 billion) to build the world's largest plasma TV display panel plant amid expectations of a surge in demand for flat-panel televisions.
