ANANTAPUR: The contract workers of Government Medical College and the attached General Hospital here under the aegis of Anantapuram Medical College and Hospital Employees Union affiliated to CITU took out a procession on Wednesday demanding payment of wages pending for the last six months. Speaking before the commencement of the procession general secretary of the union D. Sreenivasa Rao and district secretary of CITU M. Imtiaz said the contract staff was struggling hard due to non-payment of wages for six months. The matter was taken to the notice of Director of Medical Education several times, but to no avail, they said. They demanded payment of wages in the first week of every month.
