Man found murdered inside a hut

Bangalore: A man was found murdered in his hut by his neighbours at Annayappa Thota, Saptagiri Layout in Nagarabhavi 2nd Stage coming under Jnanabharati Police Station limits. The police gave the name of the victim as Palani (35), a native of Shimoga who was a construction worker. They said that neighbours got suspicious when Palani did not come out of his hut on Wednesday morning.

When they went inside, they reportedly found him dead. The police said that Palani had been stabbed in the chest. The motive behind his murder was not known. They found the receipts of chit fund near his body.

Killed in accident

Two persons were killed in road accidents reported in the city on Tuesday night.

Jaikumar (26), a rider, was killed on Kanakapura Road, in front of Metro Cash `N' Carry, when a lorry transporting sand took a sudden turn. Ravikumar (26), pillion rider, was seriously injured, the police said. He had been admitted to a private hospital. The police said that Jaikumar was going to drop Ravikumar at Konankunte Cross. The driver of the lorry, Vasu, had been arrested and the lorry had been seized. A case had been registered. In another accident, Bhaktavatsala (38), a motorcycle rider, was killed in front of the City Hospital, West of Chord Road, on Tuesday night. The Vijayanagar Traffic police said that he was riding fast and failed to see the speed breaker. He hit the road divider and was seriously injured. The police said that he was taken to City Hospital, where he was declared dead.

Worker ends life

Pradeep Kumar, casual worker at Wipro factory, on Tuesday committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his house in Rajajinagar VI Block.

His brother reportedly told the Magadi Road police that Pradeep Kumar suffered from depression and was treated for it at Spandana Nursing Home.

Arrested

The special wing of Malleswaram Sub-Division and the Rajajinagar police on Sunday arrested a call centre employee V.R. Vincent, resident of Kuvempunagar.

The police said that Vincent used to steal motorcycles and sell them.
