Man arrested on charge of killing son

BANGALORE: Srinivas alias Seena (26), who was booked in several criminal cases, was beaten to death allegedly by his drunken father Shyam (55) on Wednesday evening at Wilson Garden police station limits.

The two apparently used to have frequent fights. After one such fight on Wednesday evening, Srinivas had gone to sleep when his father allegedly hit him several times with a large kitchen utensil. Srinivas died on the spot and his father has been arrested.

Woman found dead

A newly-married woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Subramanyanagar police station limits. Suprita (27), hailing from Maddur taluk, had married Vishwanath from Rajajinagar, I block, three months ago. Her husband and in-laws claimed that she had committed suicide. According to Suprita's uncle Javaregowda, it could be a dowry death.
