BANGALORE: The First Fast Track Sessions Court on Wednesday framed charges against Bharati Urs and two others in relation to the murder of Chitralekha Urs, the daughter of former Judge of the Karnataka High Court late M.P. Chandrakanth Raje Urs.

Judge A.R. Deshpande read out the charges to Bharati Urs, T. Madhukar and L.N. Chandrakant. The three persons have been charged with hatching a conspiracy to murder Chitralekha on January 19, 2004. They were also charged with committing the offence for the sake of money and also that they had destroyed evidence.

Bharati had taken a loan of Rs. 65 lakh from Chitralekha and had not repaid it. Chitralekha had been demanding the return of the loan. On January 19, Bharati had called Chitralekha to an office in High Ground police station limits. Later Madhukumar and L.N. Chandrakanth, who were hired by Bharati, strangled Chitralekha.
