It is being organised every year by the sabha in memory of the late Gururao Deshpande of Dharwad, teacher of the sabha's founder Pandit Vinayak Torvi. The entry is free for the event. An attraction this year will be a solo tabla performance by 17-year-old Rimpa Shiva from Kolkata. Vocalist Pt. Samaresh Chawdhury from Kolkata, Pt. Venkatesh Kumar from Dharwad and Manjari Asanare-Kelkar from Nasik will give recitals. Carnatic Veena exponent Suma Sudhindra will perform to the accompaniment of ghatam by S.N. Narayana Murthy and veena by D. Divya Avinash. The artistes accompanying the vocalists will include PT. Ravindra Yavagal, Udayraj Karpur on the tabla, and Ravindra Katoti and Pt. Vyasamurthi Katti on the harmonium. Pt. Torvi, who recently received the Kirana Gharana Award for 2006, will be felicitated. He will also give a recital.
