  • `We are looking forward to good partnership'

BANGALORE: The German delegation here is looking for stimulation of scientific and technology alliances between Indian and German tool manufactures, suppliers and buyers. It will be looking for possible tie-ups with original equipment manufacturers to set up powerful production lines, Thomas Jurk, Minister of Economic Affairs and Labour, State of Saxony, Germany, has said.

Mr. Jurk was speaking at the inauguration of International Machine Tools Forum in the Indian Machine Tools Exhibition on Saturday.

He said Saxony was known for technology driven business and it had a good network between the industry and academia.

There were seven universities and 37 research institutes in the area. Indian entrepreneurs could set up their units and use the rich academia. "We are looking forward to a good business partnership between Indian and German tool manufacturers," he said.

Markus Lotzsch, Chief Executive Officer of Saxony Economic Development Corporation, urged the entrepreneurs to make use of Saxony Government's incentives.

C.P. Rangachar, Indian Machine Tools Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) president, said the Forum would act as a gateway to Germany's leading suppliers of machine tools.
