Countries identified for BrahMos sale

New Delhi: Dismissing reports of Moscow's reservations about the export of BrahMos missiles as without any "basis", top officials on Tuesday said joint venture partners India and Russia had identified countries to which it could be sold.

"There is nothing official about it, there is no basis for the reports," A. Dergachev Alexander chairman, Board of Directors of BrahMos, told reporters here.

He said a supervisory committee comprising representatives from the Russian and Indian Governments had already finalised a list of "friendly countries" to which the 290 km-range supersonic missiles could be sold.

"The inter-government agreement on BrahMos stipulates that the missiles will be sold to friendly nations," G. Leonov Alexander, Designer General of BrahMos said. — PTI
