NEW DELHI: The Communist Party of India (Marxist), which is contesting six Assembly seats in Uttarakhand, said Biman Basu, Chairman of the Left Front in West Bengal, would campaign for the party in Uddham Singh Nagar area. The CPI (M) has decided to field Sunil Haldar from Pantnagar seat and hopes to expand its base in the district which has a sizeable presence of people from Bengal. Party Polit Bureau Member Brinda Karat said Mr. Basu has been requested to join the campaign for the CPI (M) candidate. The other candidates declared by the party State Secretary Vijay Rana are Gangadhar Nautiyal, Virendra Mingwal, Ranvir Singh Rana, Sher Singh Rana and Sher Singh.
