3-year-old boy falls into 50 feet borewell

Katni (M.P.): A three-year-old boy fell into a 50 feet borewell at Goreshwar village, near here, on Sunday, prompting the administration to launch a rescue operation, official sources said.

Amit Kushwah fell into the borewell and got lodged at a depth of 20 feet in the evening, District Collector Anupam Rajan told PTI.

As people gathered around, rescue operation was on to save the child, who seems to be conscious and was being supplied oxygen, he said adding a team of doctors and ambulance had reached the spot. Senior officials were monitoring the operation, he added.

Machines were being employed to dig a parallel pit to reach the boy and experts are keeping an eye on the developments, Mr. Rajan said.
