Financial aid for coir cooperatives

ALAPPUZHA: Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac will inaugurate the distribution of financial aid of the State Government to cooperative societies in the coir sector at a function at Anjali Auditorium here at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

The grant is an initiative of the State Government to revive ailing cooperative societies in the coir sector in the State by providing them fixed capital and working capital.

A sum of Rs.16 crore will be distributed to 362 coir cooperative societies.

Minister for Coir and Devaswom G. Sudhakaran will preside over the function. Revenue Minister K.P. Rajendran will deliver the key-note address.

K.S. Manoj, MP; MLAs K.C. Venugopal, Anathalavattom Anandan and P. Thilothaman, will offer felicitations on the occasion.
