* A standalone photograph captioned "The race is on: MiG MAGIC: A MiG-35 fighter jet, which was unveiled to the world by Russian Aircraft Corporation-MiG, shows its prowess at the Aero India show in Bangalore on Wednesday ... ." (February 8, 2007, page 1) led to confusion with a reader saying that it was a MiG-29OVT. Our Bangalore Bureau, quoting the Russian team at the airshow, clarifies that the aircraft in the picture is a MiG-29OVT. The Russians are using it to demonstrate what the capabilities of a MiG-35 with thrust vectoring will be like. This is because thrust vectoring is an option on the MiG-35. * A sentence in "`Tamils need have no fear'" (February 8, 2007) was: "[Karnataka Chief Minister] Mr. Kumaraswamy also said that Defence Minister Pranab Mukherji had thanked him and the people for postponing the bandh to February 12 and obliging the Defence Ministry to hold the airshow in Bangalore despite their agony because of the [Cauvery Water Disputes] tribunal verdict." Mr. Pranab Mukherjee is the Minister of External Affairs. Mr. A.K. Antony is the Minister of Defence. * In a report "[Cauvery Water Disputes] Tribunal award: Government denies remarks ascribed to counsel" (another heading was "Karnataka denies counsel's remarks on tribunal award", February 8, 2007), Mr. Siddaramaiah was incorrectly referred to as the former Chief Minister. Mr. Siddaramaiah is the former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister.
* In a tennis report "All set for World Group Davis Cup battles" ("Sport", February 7, 2007), it was stated that Rafael Nadal had a five-set quarterfinal Australian Open loss to Fernando Gonzalez. It was an error. Nadal lost in straight sets to Gonzalez. It is the policy of The Hindu to correct significant errors as soon as possible.
