Opinion - Letters to the Editor

Blair's troubles

Your editorial "Mr. Blair's endless troubles" (Feb. 9) brings to mind Nikita Khrushchev's memorable remark, "Politicians are the same all over. They promise to build a bridge even where there is no river." Tony Blair has inflicted a deep wound on the body politic of his country by joining hands with the American cause in Iraq. It is incomprehensible how he presumes that he is infallible in persisting with his country's participation in the ongoing war in Iraq. As the editorial rightly notes, "The longer he stays, the more damage he will do to the party and government."
