Bangalore: Higher Education Minister D.H. Shankaramurthy on Wednesday said that the Government would conduct the Common Entrance Test (CET) on May 9 and that the results would be published within 15 days from the date of test. Accompanied by Medical Education Minister V.S. Acharya, who released the brochure for CET, Mr. Shankaramurthy told presspersons that the brochures and application forms would reach the colleges on or before February 22. The seat selection process would commence from May 30 and it would conclude by July-end.Repeaters, who have sent demand drafts by post, would get the application forms and brochures by Speed Post on or after February 22. The filled-in forms had to be submitted to principals of colleges on or before March 3. Those, who get the forms through mail should submit the filled-in forms to the CET Cell through Speed Post on or before March 3. Candidates should affix their left thumb impression on the reverse of the application forms in the space provided. Otherwise, such application forms would not be scanned. The candidates were advised to take a photocopy of their filled-in application forms before submitting them to the principals or before sending them to the CET Cell. Incomplete forms and those without the left thumb impression would be rejected, he said. Candidates submitting application forms through colleges would get their admission tickets on or by April 25. Candidates sending application forms through Speed Post would get their admission ticket through Speed Post only on or by April 25. As a special arrangement, candidates this year had been provided the facility to download admission ticket. If any candidate failed to receive the admission ticket, he could download it by entering his application number on the CET website. The Minister said candidates had to affix their left thumb impression on the OMR answer sheets after completion of each session of the test. Otherwise, such answer sheets would not be scanned and rank would not be assigned.
