Srujana-2007, the annual technical festival conducted by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) to encourage creative talent among engineering students will be held at the district sports authority stadium in Sangareddy, Medak from March 15 to 18. "The fair will have competitions in working models, paper presentations and technical quiz for engineering students," according to Veeramachineni Shravan Kumar, Convenor, Srujana-2007. He said the festival would also provide a platform for interaction between the industry and educational institutions apart from helping industries scouting talent.
Technical papers
The technical paper presentation would be conducted in two rounds. Regional rounds would be held in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Warangal and Kurnool and final round in Sanga Reddy. They are open to engineering students of all streams of all years. The college winning maximum events would get the championship trophy. Total cash prizes of Rs. 1 lakh would be given. Mr. Shravan said previous editions proved to be tremendous successes with students from all over the State participating enthusiastically. The festival has been providing an opportunity for students to interact with top industrialists and draw inspiration to start their own ventures. The five-day festival would have seminars on entrepreneurship for students to gain knowledge on setting up industries and the ways and means to it. "We want engineering graduates to be job providers rather than job seekers," he said. The last date for registration for technical papers is March 1 and March 5 for working models. Candidates should enclose a demand draft for Rs 50 in favour of ABVP payable at Hyderabad to the entry form.
