HYDERABAD: Registration charges payable on purchase/sale of properties in rural areas of Andhra Pradesh will also go up steeply from April 1. This is a sequel to a Government's decision to enhance the market values of lands, buildings, sites and other forms of properties in villages up to 50 per cent from that date for registration purpose. The stamp duty, transfer fee and registration fee, collected on the market value of the properties in the rural areas at 6 per cent, 3 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively, have, however, been kept unchanged. Despite this, the purchasers/sellers of properties will end up paying higher amounts for registration as all these three levies are computed on the market values.
