KURNOOL: The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) opened its hotel-cum-restaurant at Lower Ahobilam here on Saturday. The facility, with eight luxury rooms, costs Rs 72 lakhs. Raymond Peter, Managing Director of APTDC, said the corporation was planning another hotel at R&B guesthouse, Ahobilam with 32 rooms. He said the corporation was offering package tours covering Tirupati, Ahobilam, Srisailam, Mahanandi and other shrines in the district. Jungle-walks, forest retreats and bird tracking would be promoted under the wild-life tourism. APTDC had identified eight eco-tourism spots in the State and had collaborated with the Forest Development Corporation for its promotion. As part of this concept, house-boats were commissioned. Collector M. Dana Kishore, MLA Gangual Pratap Reddy and SP B. Malla Reddy were present.
