HYDERABAD: Authorities of Nehru Zoological Park are planning to convert the diesel-run vehicles in the Tiger Safari into Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-based vehicles. The authorities hope that this would decrease the levels of exposure to animals from vehicular pollution. To begin with, the CNG vehicles will first be introduced in the Tiger Safari and depending on its success, the authorities pointed out that the fleet of CNG-run vehicles in the city zoo will be enhanced. Experts suggest that animals in the zoo are susceptible to various kinds of ailments once they get exposed to vehicular pollution for a long period of time.
