MUMBAI: Film financier and diamond merchant Bharat Shah has filed a complaint with the police about a threat call from Dubai. Confirming the complaint, filed at the Malabar Hill police station on Monday night, Mr. Shah said he had asked for extra police protection. "I received a call on Sunday night at 11 p.m. The caller identified himself as Shetty from Dubai. He asked me to not to complain about Amir Nancy, owner of Royal Palms, or else he would wipe out my family and me. However, I did not take it seriously. When I discussed this matter with my lawyer, he advised me not to take it lightly. So, I registered a complaint and requested security," he told The Hindu. The film financier has private security and was earlier convicted in the Bollywood-underworld nexus case in 2003. A police official confirmed that a complaint had been filed and a non-cognisable offence had been registered.
