BANGALORE: Sree Cauvery School, Indiranagar, celebrated its 24th annual day recently. The programme began with a Bharatanatya performance that depicted the four avatars of Lord Vishnu. Over 200 students from classes 1 to 10 participated in the cultural programme the theme of which was "Karnataka Vaibhava." The dance-drama showcased the grandeur of the region and also the dynasties that ruled Karnataka and their contribution to the field of art, culture and literature from the sixth to the 20th century. The use of multimedia added to the merit of the programme. The students also presented "Yakshagana," the traditional art form of Dakshina Kannada. Former assistant director of All India Radio Yamuna Murthy was the chief guest.
Graduation ceremony
St. Paul's English School and Presidency Junior College held their graduation ceremony recently. Students of Grades 10 and 12 of St. Paul's and the first batch students of Presidency graduated at a solemn ceremony attended by parents, teachers and invitees. Mahapara Ali, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India, who was the chief guest laid stress on human values.
Felicitated
Vineet. R. Ellore, a student of East-West School, Basavanagudi, has brought laurels to the school by emerging as the "champion of champions" at the first State-level UC Maths Abacus and Mental Arithmetic competition held recently in Bangalore. He was selected to participate in the national-level competition to be held in Chennai in August. Tejas of Class VII has won the second prize in a different category. Vineet, a student of class IV, has won prizes at the State and national level skating competitions. They were felicitated by the school.
Farewell function
Carmel High School, Padmanabhanagar, bid farewell to the outgoing students of Standard 10 at a function organised recently. It was a day of mixed feelings for the students. The outgoing students shared their experiences in the school. They also paid glowing tributes to their mentors.
