Health camps for women organised

BANGALORE: Various organisations have announced special programmes to commemorate International Women's Day on Thursday.

Sri Krishna Sevashrama Hospital has organised a free cancer detection camp for women at its premises at 523, 10th Main, 45th Cross, Jayanagar V Block, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tejaswini Ananth Kumar, Chairperson, Adamya Chetana, inaugurates the camp.

Lions Club of Bangalore Modinagar has arranged a free medical check-up camp for students of the SJP Government Polytechnic for Women from 10 a.m.

Special check-up

ESI Hospital, Indiranagar, has organised a special health check up camp for people having diabetes, hypertension, eye and ENT, awareness programme about women and child health, HIV/ AIDS and family planning at ESI Dispensary, Devasandra, for the benefit of insured persons and their families.

Scholarship

ICFAI National College, Banaswadi, will launch a scheme of merit scholarships for girl students as a responsibility to support and encourage women aspirants to pursue higher education.

It has invited girl students pursuing degree and postgraduate degree courses from colleges in the area to the programme to be held at 56, 9th B Main, HRBR Layout, at 3 p.m.

The college offers 35 per cent fee waiver for those who have scored 60 per cent and above and 60 per cent waiver for those who have scored 70 per cent and above in degree courses.
