THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Fee Regulatory Committee for self-financing professional colleges that met here on Thursday examined the various fee proposals submitted by the managements of professional colleges in the State. The committee has not yet taken a final decision on this matter.

According to a committee spokesman, various self-financing engineering colleges have submitted fee proposals ranging from Rs.50,000 a year to Rs.90,000 a year. The managements of medical colleges are yet to give their fee proposals to the Committee.

Various nursing colleges, two pharmacy colleges, two dental colleges and a few Ayurveda colleges have given fee proposals to the Committee.

The fee regulatory committee will hold its next sitting at Kochi on March 12.

The P.A. Mohammed Admission Supervisory Committee had on Wednesday asked the managements of all self-financing professional colleges in the State to appear before it at the committee's next sitting in Kochi on March 12.

A final decision on the fee for various professional courses will be taken only after hearing the representatives of the managements of various self-financing colleges, the spokesman added.

The consortium of self-financing Ayurveda colleges had then informed the committee that it was willing to conduct admissions to colleges under it on a 50:50 basis.
