Thiruvananthapuram: Minister for Law M. Vijayakumar on Thursday inaugurated the second area office of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company in the capital city.

Man held

Thiruvananthapuram: The Peroorkada police have arrested a 28-year-old youth in connection with several vehicle theft and assault cases in the city. Circle Inspector, Peroorkada, M. Radhakrishnan Nair identified the accused as Sajir. He said the accused was a close associate of `Mafia' Kannan, a city-based gang leader.

Four injured

Thiruvananthapuram: Four persons, including two women, were injured when the car in which they were travelling overturned after dashing against a concrete median on the State Highway at Vamanapuram late on Thursday. The seriously injured persons were identified as Sunita, 36, and Kamalamma, 68, both residents of Kallara. The other two are Somarajan, 52, who was driving the car, and Mithun, 4. — Staff Reporter

Man falls to death

Thiruvananthapuram: A 49-year-old man fell to his death while plucking coconuts from a palm in the compound of his house at Oorutambalam on Thursday morning. The police identified the deceased as Sivankutty Nair. — Staff Reporter
