Directive on PF code issued

KOCHI: Those running establishments employing 20 or more people but do not have Provident Fund code number must acquire it at the earliest, the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner has said.

The same is mandatory for cinema theatre owners who have five or more employees. Delay in compliance will invite penalty and interest and also render the employer liable for prosecution.

Employees working in such firms are entitled to PF, pension and insurance.
