Four die in accident

KADAPA: Four persons died when a sand-laden tractor overturned near Savisettipalle in Kasinayana mandal late on Friday night. Krishna Reddy (22), Ramana Reddy (13) and tractor driver Nayab Rasool (23) of Savisettipalle village died on the spot, police said. Ramamohana Reddy also of the village, died on the way to hospital. — Staff Reporter

National parties for Telangana

HYDERABAD: A `national parties coordination committee for Telangana' has been formed here to push the agenda for a separate State and involve national parties more actively in the Telangana movement. A presidium to look after the affairs of the committee has been formed, according to a statement issued by K.Prabhakar Reddy (NCP), Keshav Rao Jadav (Samatha Party), P.Janardhan Reddy (Janata Dal-U) and K.Chandra Sekhar (Janata Dal) here on Saturday. — Special Correspondent

Chain-snatchers held

KURNOOL: The police busted an inter-State gang here on Saturday and arrested two persons responsible for several case of chain-snatching in the city. Seven gold chains valued Rs 70,000 were seized from them.

Budhaprakash Muneswar, 22, and Sunit Kamble, 19, of Maharashtra were arrested, the police said. The gang also indulged in similar offences at Adilabad and Nizamabad. — Special Correspondent

Plea on gas prices

HYDERABAD: City-based Krishna, Godavari Gas Resources Protection Committee has demanded that oil companies like Reliance fix the same rate at which they were supplying gas to far off States like Karnataka, Maharashtra, UP and Gujarat. G. Narayan Reddy, convener, said companies should provide gas required by the State at the minimum rate. — Special Correspondent

Electrocuted

NIZAMABAD: T. Vishnuvardhan (26), an electrician was electrocuted when he was cleaning a transformernear a private dental college on Saturday morning.

According to Sub-Inspector B. Prakash, a case was registered against the Dental College management and Electricity Department under Section 304 Part-2 of the IPC based on a complaint lodged by the victim's mother. — Staff Reporter
