Exhibition

The district-level philatelic exhibition, Philex 2007, will be held from March 12 to March 14 at Jnana Jyothi auditorium, Central College Campus. During the exhibition, special covers and special cancellations will be issued.

The exhibition will consist of 200 frames which contain good philatelic collections.

The first two days the exhibition will be held between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., while on the last day it will be between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Health camp

The Lions Club of Bangalore Orchards and Lions Club of Bangalore Birds Paradise will conduct free diabetic and blood pressure detection camp on Sunday.

The event will be held at Government Model Kannada and Tamil Primary School, Cox Town Circle, between 9.30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Helpline

Urban India Ministries is launching a marriage and family helpline to meet the growing pains and demands of hurting families in the city. Airtel is offering a free landline (Ph: 41469999) and mobile phone (9945238999) for this service.

To start with, there will be a dedicated eight-hour tele counselling, which will be extended to 24 hours.

The project will be inaugurated on March 13 on the UIM premises, 6th Cross, 7th Main, HAL 3rd Stage.

Training

The Centre for Psychological Counselling, Department of Psychology, Bangalore University, will be organising a three-day training programme for teachers of 7th to 10th standards called `Motivating our students'. The programme will be held between April 26 and April 28.

Among the issues that will be covered include modifying study habits and study skills, enhancing listening, attention and concentration, understanding learning difficulties of school students, management of anxiety and examination stress.

Programme

The Indian Institute of Management will conduct a management programme for women entrepreneurs from April 16 to May 30. The programme will cover all the essential topics in management and entrepreneurship required for participants to develop a business plan for their own enterprise.

Coaching

Krishik Sarvodaya Foundation will hold coaching for those appearing for the Indian Forest Service Examinations 2007 from April 2.
