Top seed Raju moves up

HYDERABAD: Top-seeded P.R. Raju of Andhra Pradesh downed a fighting Statemate R.J.R. Naidu 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 in the above 55 years singles first round of the Circars AITA veterans ranking tennis tournament at Kakinada on Monday.

Genpact triumphs

Genpact scored a 47-23 win over HSBC in the final of the second TCS Cup corporate basketball championship here.

For the winner Dennis (17) and Dujon (12) shone while Sushanth (18) top-scored for the loser. Sushanth was adjudged the player of the tournament. Virtusa finished third.

Thrilling win

At Visakhapatnam, Gajuwaka Greens pulled off a one-wicket win over former winner Vizag Colts at the Zinc Stadium in the first round of 14th The Hindu Trophy cricket tournament on Monday.

In the other matches, Cavaliers CC beat APSRTC by 329 runs at the Port Stadium.

M. Chidambareswara Rao scored 162 (19x4).

M.F. Khan CC defeated The Hindu by 301 runs at the ACA-VDCA Stadium. G. Vinod Kumar hit a century and G.V. Siva Shankar claimed six wickets for the winner.
