HYDERABAD: The Left parties and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti have expressed their protest over the manner in which in which "the panel Speaker V. Purushottam Reddy was acting in contravention of democratic norms." The parties threatened to boycott the proceedings of the House if Mr. Reddy is asked to chair them forthwith. Representatives of the CPI (M), CPI and TRS have criticised the panel Speaker for "stifling" the voice of the Opposition by denying them an opportunity to express their views on issues of public importance. The members staged a brief demonstration in front of Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy's chamber, raising slogans against the "behaviour of Mr. Purushottam Reddy." They met the Speaker and lodged a complaint against Mr. Reddy. Speaking to reporters later, CPI (M) Floor Leader Nomula Narasimhaiah said his party wanted to register its protest against the "Government's failure" to check price rise. The panel Speaker, however, adjourned the House abruptly without giving an opportunity.
