Badrinath to lead Tamil Nadu

Chennai: S. Badrinath will captain Tamil Nadu in the all-India inter-State one-day knock-out cricket tournament from March 16.

Tirunelveli blanks Salem

Tirunelveli blanked Salem 8-0 in the SDAT-TNHA Champions Cup hockey tournament match held here on Monday. Philip Martin struck thrice and Nagendran and Siva Sankaran twice each while Merwin Joy found the net once.

Arun, Suresh star in Vivekananda's win

K.B. Arun Karthick (104 not out) and S. Suresh Kumar (seven for 14) starred in RKM Vivekananda's 150-run win over AM Jain in the semifinals of the IIT-Sanmar inter-collegiate cricket tournament here. In the other last four match, Loyola defeated Guru Nanak by seven wickets.

Ganesh's unbeaten 78 enabled Reliance Communications beat Raj TV by 89 runs in a YSCA league-cum-knockout cricket tournament for SSI Trophy being held here.
