TIRUPATI: Prakash Javedkar, All-India spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has on Monday expressed deep anguish over the spurt in suicides by farmers in the Congress-ruled States, especially Andhra Pradesh. He blamed the inept rule and lopsided policies of the Governments concerned. Javedkar who is currently on a visit to the State to mobilise support for BJP candidates contesting for the Legislative Council made a specific reference to the plight of cotton farmers in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra which eventually was forcing many to the brink of disaster . The BJP leader also lashed at the YSR Government for backtracking on all poll promises and getting fully engrossed in activities which were loaded with easy money and wealth. The Government here seems to be interested only in land grabbing and land sharking, he said. On the BJP's stocks at the national level, he said the resounding victory of the party in the three States clearly reflected the upswing in people's support to the party. .
