Memorial service for Woolmer

CAPE TOWN : The memorial service for Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer will take place in Cape Town next Wednesday.

Woolmer, a former South Africa coach, and his family are long-time residents of Cape Town.

The afternoon memorial service will be held at Wynberg Boys High School in a southern suburb of the city, the Bob Woolmer Trust Fund said on Friday. It will be led by Jerome Francis, a minister who was coached by Woolmer as a boy.

Speakers will include Tim Noakes — a sports science professor who collaborated with Woolmer on a coaching book — and former South Africa bowler Allan Donald. — AP
