IGP inaugurates hospital for police

Rural Development Trust, an NGO, provides financial assistance to establish hospital

ANANTAPUR: Inspector-General of Police (Rayalaseema Zone) N. Sambasiva Rao on Saturday inaugurated a 10-bedded hospital and an indoor badminton court constructed with financial assistance from Rural Development Trust, an NGO, for the police here. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rao said it was rare and unique facility created for the police of Anantapur.

Nowhere in the State the police had such hospital facility, though doctors were made available, he said. The hospital was constructed with a donation of Rs. 20 lakhs given by the RDT.

Pathological lab

A pathological laboratory was also set up in the hospital. Later, the IGP inaugurated an indoor badminton court, constructed with Rs. 30 lakhs donation given by the RDT. H

e urged the police officers and other personnel and their families to utilise the facilities properly.

Replication

Such a system could be replicated in other districts if the facility was utilised properly by the police here, he said and thanked the RDT for its generous assistance.

DIG of Police of Anantapur Range N. Jayarami Reddy, Superintendent of Police M.S. Raveendra, Programme Director of RDT Mancho Ferrer, Ecology Director of RDT Y.V. Malla Reddy and others participated.
