Suicide and a bid near Secretariat

CHENNAI: An unidentified 30-year-old man was found hanging from a tree opposite the Secretariat on Monday. The same day, an alleged attempt to commit suicide in front of the Secretariat complex was foiled. Police said Muniandi (50) of Red Hills was embroiled in a property dispute with his family. a complaint is pending in the Red Hills police station. Since no action was taken, he decided to end his life. Staff members handed him over to police.

Chains snatched

Three women who went to a temple kumbhabishekam in T.P. Chatram had their gold chains weighing 12 sovereigns snatched. Police said Saroja, Saraswathi and Geetha were residents of Anna Nagar East. T.P. Chatram police registered a case.
