GUNTUR: District Administration has cancelled Social Science examination also of Class 7 as the question paper leaked on Friday and all the questions published in a newspaper tallied with the question paper supplied in the examination centres on Saturday. The Social Science examination all over the district will be organised on April 27 at all the centres, District Education Officer Movva Ramalingam told The Hindu . The General Science question paper also leaked on Thursday, but it was not published by any newspaper, which the Education Department has sent to subject experts and was considering cancellation of the examination if they recommend, he said. Meanwhile, District Collector G. Jayalakshmi has ordered an inquiry into the entire episode of leaking of Class 7 question papers allegedly from Tenali. The suspicion was on a couple of private corporate schools, which might have leaked the papers. The District Revenue Officer B. Lakshmikantham on Saturday began inquiry into the whole affair by interrogating various people in his office. The spot valuation of the Class 7 answer sheets, would however, be taken up from April 29 the DEO said. The District Collector reviewed the whole issue with the DEO and other officials here on Saturday evening. The source of paper leak was being traced to printing press also, which could not be identified so far.
The role of all officials and people concerned with conduct/preparation of question paper would also be investigated into.
