Bidar: Karnataka Slum Clearance Board Chairman and MLA Rajendra Verma laid foundation stone for the inter-State bridge at Attarga in Bhalki taluk on Wednesday. The bridge to be built at a cost of Rs 67 lakh will connect villages in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. This will help movement of people and goods between the two States. It will provide a direct road from Bidar to Attarga, Manikeshwar, Gunjarga, Yellammanavadi, Hariwadi and Mehkar villages on the border. Now, people from the district headquarters have to take a circuitous route to reach these villages. The bridge would also help in development of the backward taluk of Bhalki, Mr. Verma said.
