Vidyananda Shenoy passes away

BANGALORE: B.V. Vidyananda Shenoy, State convener of Rashtrothana Parishat, died on Thursday night at a hospital here. He was 55.

He was known for his talk titled "Bharata Darshana", 50,000 cassettes of which have been sold. Mr. Shenoy is survived by three brothers and five sisters, according to a release from the Parishat.

Mr. Shenoy was cremated here on Friday. A condolence meeting was held at the State headquarters of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. It was attended, among others, by RSS national chief K.S. Sudarshan.

The Dakshina Kannada district committee of the BJP has mourned the death of Mr. Shenoy, and a condolence message was issued by its president, K. Monappa Bhandary

Office-bearers of the committee, State BJP president D.V. Sadananda Gowda, district in-charge Minister B. Nagaraj Shetty, party MLAs and others have mourned the death of Mr. Shenoy.
