Vehicle-lifters' gang busted

ANANTAPUR: The Two Town police on Saturday arrested a four-member gang allegedly involved in theft of two-wheelers and seized 12 motorcycles worth Rs. 5 lakhs from their possession.

The gang was also involved in theft of cattle and selling them to slaughterhouses around Bangalore, the police said.

Anantapur DSP G.S. Karunakar told reporters that a computer along with printer, a stamp moulding machine and other paraphernalia required for making fake vehicle registration certificates were also seized from them. The arrested members were identified as D. Babavali (20), A. Srinivasulu (22), G. Krishna (23) and K. Srinivasulu (40), all residents of Anantapur.

The two-wheelers were stolen from Lalithakala Parishath, Police Training College, Tower Clock area, Police Welfare Complex, Ramanagar and Gooty railway station areas.
