Antony to tour Alappuzha today

ALAPPUZHA: Defence Minister A.K. Antony will be in the district to attend various programmes on Sunday.

The first public programme that Mr. Antony will attend is the golden jubilee celebrations of the Gandhi Smaraka Gramaseva Kendram at S.L. Puram, near Mararikulam, at 11 a.m. He will inaugurate the meeting of the ward committees of the Congress in the district at 2 p.m. Later in the day, at a programme organised near the Alappuzha beach, he will inaugurate the beautified sidepaths and surroundings of the Commercial Canal and new facilities for visitors and tourists at the beach.
