BANGALORE: A 30-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Peenya police station limits on Saturday. The assailant repeatedly stabbed Nagarathnamma (30) and she had around 10 wounds in the abdomen. She was murdered apparently out of jealousy, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Gopal B. Hosur told The Hindu. Around 11 a.m. when Nagarathnamma was alone at her house on 1st Cross, Bhuvaneshwarinagar, a man walked in, stabbed her and ran away. A profusely bleeding Nagarathnamma came out of the house and collapsed. Neighbours rushed her to a hospital and she died there around noon. Nagarathnamma of Bhuvanenahalli in Nelamangala taluk married Mallesh 10 years ago. For the past few years, she was living with Raju, a garment factory employee, in Bhuvaneshwarinagar. Raju too is married and has children. The Peenya police have registered a case and seized the knife with which Nagarathnamma was attacked.
Robbed
Three men robbed Vimala, general manager of a private company in Electronics City, of a gold chain worth Rs. 35,000 at knifepoint in Madivala police station limits on Friday. The police said that around 7.30 p.m., the three robbed Vimala of the chain while she was waiting at the entrance of Hosur Road flyover, near Wipro, to board a bus to her house on Magadi Road. The Madivala police have registered a case.
Shop burgled
Burglars struck at a mobile phone shop in R.T. Nagar and looted handsets worth Rs. 6 lakh on Friday night. The police said the thieves had entered Kailash's shop by breaking open the rolling shutters. The R.T. Nagar police have registered a case.
Arrested
The Wilson Garden police arrested two more persons in connection with the murder of Dalit Panthers of India leader Balu. He was hacked to death near Urvashi cinema on April 21. The police gave the names of the arrested as Naveen Kumar alias Appu (22) of Anjanappa Garden and Mohan (23) of Ramanagara in Bangalore Rural district.
