HASSAN: CITU district unit president Dharmesh demanded that Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy should withdraw his statement on trade unions. At a recent function in Bangalore, the Chief Minister reportedly said that trade unions did not have any work and were creating trouble. Mr. Dharmesh was addressing workers after a hoisting a flag at the Government High School Grounds in connection with May Day, here on Tuesday. The Chief Minister's statement was "anti-trade union," he said. The Government should become the voice of the working class. The country gained independence owing to fight by the working class. Politicians had entered the scene later to enjoy the fruits of freedom, Mr. Dharmesh said.
