Hard work pays off for students

BANGALORE: The hard work put in by the students of various schools that are part of The Hindu 's NIE programme has paid off. They have taken their first step towards fulfilling their dreams by excelling in the SSLC examination held in March. Many students said that this year the science paper was tough but the preparatory test conducted by schools was tougher.

Carmel School

Carmel School, Padmanabhanagar, achieved cent percent pass results. At this school, 267 students got first class, with 29 scoring above 95 per cent. Six students have scored a centum in mathematics, while two each in Sanskrit and science and three in Kannada. Shruthi. B.S. (98.4 per cent) is the topper, while Anjali. V. (98.08) stood second.

Oxford School

Oxford English High School, Nagarabhavi, too has achieved cent per cent pass results with nine students scoring above 90 per cent. "For the past four years, we have been achieving cent per cent pass results. Our toppers have secured fewer marks in Kannada, hence their aggregate percentage came down. We ourselves have taken the initiative to apply for revaluation as we are confident that our students have done well in that subject," said Secretary B. R. Supreeth.

Harish Kamath (93.5 per cent) is the topper. Varsha. S and Santhosh. M. J. with 93 per cent have come second.

Florence High School

Arcot Manoj Prabhakar, who got 96.48 per cent, the topper of Florence Public High School, R.T. Nagar, was nervous on the day of the result. "When I saw my result on the Net, I was relieved. I was not confident of topping the school. My parents and teachers have always supported me and I am very grateful to them. I want to become a chartered accountant," he said. Anu Priya. S. (96.16 per cent) stood second.

Jyothi Vidyalaya

All the students of Jyothi Vidyalaya, Hesaraghatta, have passed. Four students have scored above 90 per cent. Sneha. V (92.48 per cent) is the topper, while Mohanakalyani. B. N., (92.16 per cent) has stood second.

Pavan English School

Three students of Pavan English School, Srirampuram, have scored above 90 per cent. Ramya. R. K. (94.88 per cent) is the topper, while Nikitha. R. Hegde (93.44 per cent) has come second.

Sree Cauvery

This year too, Sree Cauvery School, Indiranagar, has achieved cent per cent pass results. Eight students scored above 90 per cent and 51 passed in first class. Anjali Balachandran (95.2 per cent) is the topper and she has scored a centum in mathematics. Vipriya. R. (95.4 per cent) has come second.

Premier High School

Four students of Premier High School, Srirampuram, scored above 90 per cent. Radhika. S.R. (95.4 per cent) is the topper. Krithika. S. (93.76 per cent) stood second.
