Power shutdown

There will be no power supply on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lakshmi layout, Arakere Layout, Vijaya Bank layout, Kodichikkanahalli, Devarachikkanahalli, Rotary Nagar, Ollum Layout, Bannerghatta Road, Classic Layout, MICO Layout, Begur, Chikka Begur, Vishwapriyanagar, Kothnur Dinne, Konankunte, RBI Layout, Puttenahalli, J.P. Nagar 5th, 6th and 7th phase, Jeeraganahalli, Harinagar, Chunchagatta, Srinidhi Layout, Bank Colony, Ganapathipura, Bheereshwaranagar, Shivashakthinagar, Guru Raghavendra Layout, Eshwarnagar, Nataraj Layout, Muthappa Garden, K.R. Programme on health

The Bharatiya Seva Trust will organise a programme on "Environment and health" on May 5. The programme will address issues such as prevention of diseases like cancer, hypertension, diabetes, heart ailments from pollution and stress. It will be held at Rotary Children's Auditorium, Prof. Shivashankar Circle, K.R. Road, at 5.30 p.m.

Nature camp

The Karnataka Mountaineering Association is organising five-day nature awareness and adventure camp for children aged between 10 and 15 at Madikeri from May 10. Discussion

The Bangalore Medical College Alumni Association has organised a panel discussion on "Hi-tech medicine — boon or bane?" on May 6 as part of a series of panel discussion on health care and consumerism. A release said the association planned to hold panel discussions on various health care related topics such as adverse medical events, limitations of hi-tech medicine, informed consent in health care and research, confidentially and communication and alternative medicine. The discussion will be held at Dr. T.B. Basavarajendra Seminar Hall, 1st Floor, BMC Alumni Building, Bangalore Medical College. Details can be had on ph: 26703202.

Consumer adalat

A consumer adalat has been arranged on May 5 by the Department of Legal Metrology to address grievances of the public pertaining to weights and measures. A release said the adalat would be held at 4.30 p.m. in the office of the Deputy Controller of Metrology, 763, 5th Block, Rajajinagar.
