Tamil Nadu thrashes Haryana

Rourkela: Tamil Nadu defeated Haryana 5-0 in a Group `C' quarterfinal league match of the 15th senior women's football championship at the Ispat stadium here on Saturday.

R. Kalpana (2), S. Vasanti (2) and T. Vidyavati scored.

Haryana, which had earlier lost against Bengal, is now out of the tournament while the winner in the match between Bengal and Tamil Nadu will enter the semifinals by topping the group.

In a Group B quarterfinal league match Kerala defeated Chhattisgarh 3-0. Kerala took the lead in the 34th minute through C.N. Ajitha. Angel Adolfes made it 2-0 for Kerala in the 43rd minute.

Skipper Subita Poovatta found the net in the 69th minute to complete the tally. — PTI
