Opinion - Letters to the Editor

Unfortunate

It is very unfortunate that business in both houses of Parliament was affected on Monday. There were allegations and counter allegations by parties against one another but nothing substantial was discussed. Serious problems such as the Nithari killings, Nandigram violence, and fake encounters in Gujarat did not get the attention they deserved. Politicians only used them as tools to score brownie points.

It is a shame that our MPs do not discuss issues seriously with a view to finding solutions.

Vinod Kumar,
Thiruvananthapuram

People expect meaningful discussions from their elected representatives, not noisy scenes. Parliament resembles a noisy classroom. India needs responsible and dignified representatives.
