Good response to CET in State

98 p.c. of registered candidates took physics and chemistry papers

BANGALORE: The single day Common Entrance Test (CET-2007) for admission to government quota undergraduate medical, engineering and dental seats concluded across the State on Wednesday.

About 98 per cent of the registered candidates appeared for the physics and chemistry examinations, while 95 per cent took the mathematics test.

Only 75 per cent of the candidates appeared for the biology examination.

Kannada test

The CET Cell will hold the Kannada language test on Thursday at 11 a.m. for Horanadu Kannadiga candidates and at 2 p.m. for Garinadu Kannadiga candidates, according to the schedule notified in the CET-2007 brochure.

The test will be conducted on the CET Cell premises on 18th cross, Malleswaram here. The key answers to the "CET-2007" will be published on the CET Cell website (http://kar.nic.in/cet) on May 15.

Candidates and parents could file their objections, if any, addressed to the "Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore" on or before May 18 either in person or through "Speed Post."

The objections should be accompanied by all supporting documents/justifications.

The objections received by the CET Cell will be placed before an expert committee, whose decision will be final for determination of the right key answers, special officer S.G. Hegde said.

"The objections received after May 18 will not be considered," he added.

Candidates who wish to apply for the architecture course (B. Arch) will have to appear for the National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA) on or before May 15, and submit the NATA scorecard along with their second PUC marks card on or before May 18.

The CET number should be entered on the NATA scorecard.

A total of 1,05,127 candidates had registered for the CET, which was held in 205 examination centres across the State.
